Size Guide

The White Bird of Paradise is a stunning plant that features crane-like flowers and can be grown both indoors and outdoors in hardiness zones 10-12. However, the Strelizia Nicolai, also known as the Giant Bird of Paradise, sets itself apart with its impressive foliage that can reach heights of up to 20 feet! With proper care and attention, you can bring a tropical paradise vibe to your home and patio.

When it comes to caring for your indoor White Bird of Paradise, watering should be done when the top 2-3 inches of soil is dry. The frequency of watering will depend on factors such as the plant's growth, the indoor environment, and the humidity level, which should be kept high to ensure the plant is well-cared for. Instead of adhering to a strict watering schedule, it's best to monitor the soil's moisture levels regularly.

While the Bird of Paradise plant is generally considered non-toxic to humans, the ASPCA lists it as toxic to animals, specifically the fruit and seeds. Therefore, it's advisable to avoid ingesting the plant, and it's best to keep it out of reach of children and pets.

To ensure optimal growth, the White Bird of Paradise requires bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate medium-light conditions, the plant will gradually decline without adequate light.

When it comes to selecting a pot, a 3-4 foot tall White Bird of Paradise requires a 10-inch pot, while 5-6 foot plants need a 14-inch pot. In the box, you'll receive one Strelitzia nicolai 'White Bird of Paradise' in a 10" grow pot. Please note that the ceramic planter is sold separately.
