- You can propagate your Maylasian Orchid by rooting stem cuttings. How do you do it? (1) Cut a piece of stem with at least two leaves. (2) Cut ⅔ of the leaf surface off. This limits the amount of energy it absorbs from the stem. (3) Optional: Dab the end of the stem in powdered rooting hormone. (4) Place the stem in a mix of premoistened sphagnum moss.
